XII. But when the time of the forty

‹ Section 11 Section 13 ›

days

comes

,

all

the

trees

cease

from

their

fruits

,

and

the

manna

that

he

gave

to

our

fathers

rains

down

from

heaven

,

and

the

manna

is

sweeter

than

honey

.

Thus

we

know

that

the

season

of

the

year

is

changed

.

But

when

the

time

of

the

holy

passover

comes

,

then

again

the

trees

put

forth

fragrant

fruit

,

and

thus

we

know

that

it

is

the

beginning

of

the

year

.

But

the

feast

of

the

resurrection

of

the

Lord

is

performed

with

much

watching

,

for

we

continue

watching

for

three

days

and

three

nights

.
